Robin & Bob are a musical duo that was formed in early 2017. Bob has been playing guitar for over 30 years and Robin has been singing in some capacity since she was a young girl. Some Club members may remember Bob from Shannon and the Merger, and Submerge. Their sound is a mix of blues, folk and rock all intertwined. The duo have opened for The Danielle Nicole Band, Albert Cummings and Davina and the Vagabonds. They perform throughout the tri-state area and are in the process of recording their first CD!

SATURDAY, WATERFIRE AFTER THE FIRE PARTY WITH THE TINA DANIELS BAND, 9:30 PM – 12:30 AM

Tina Daniels is a vocalist performer from the Pittsburgh area who takes to the stage with her high energy blues rock edge in and around the Pittsburgh music scene for 25 plus years.
Her powerful, raw, gritty, lead vocals and dynamic stage presence has played a major role in her success to entertaining any audience.
Tina is joined on stage with Ron Vis on lead guitar, along with Keith Gamble on bass and Eric Storer on drums.
Many, but not all of Tina’s influences include; Daniele Nicole, Beth Hart, Sass Jordan, Grace Slick, Janis Joplin, Allman Brothers, Tedeschi Trucks, Nina Simone, Roberta Flack.

Strums & Drums formed in 2016, by Adreanne Foos (guitar + vocals) and Jeff Foos (drums + hand percussion). The duo performs a variety of music, focusing mostly on writing original music and always entertaining crowds with fan favorite cover songs. In 2017, Strums & Drums released their first full-length album entitled Train of Mystery. The album included 9 live-recorded songs, written by Adreanne and arranged by Jeff, and recorded, mixed & mastered by Matthew Johntony at BMG Studios. Adreanne & Jeff continue to write and arrange original music, and have plans to release another full-length album in fall of 2018 and have plans to release a Christmas album in December of 2018.

FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AND SUNDAY: THE RIVER SAINTS, A 25-YEAR RETROSPECTIVE LIVE RECORDING SESSION, 8:00 – 11:00 PM

This weekend we’re celebrating the birthday of Steve Vuich, a local musician that’s contributed so much to the local live music scene. Over the entire weekend (Friday 8:00 – 11:00, Saturday 8:00 – 11:00, and Sunday 6:00 – 9:00) Steve will be performing with the River Saints and several other musicians who he’s played with over the years to recollect 25 years of the River Saints and other legendary local performers. These 3 days will be recorded live, and a memento CD will be released from the edited material in the near future. Come in and join the fun!

With thousands of live gigs under their collective belts, Mulebone is one of the most polished yet spontaneous duos performing today. Comprised of multi-instrumentalist John Ragusa and roots music specialist (and New York Blues Hall of Fame inductee) Hugh Pool, the launching pad for Mulebone’s musical expression is traditional blues, but there’s much more to it than that. Equally at home in the worlds of Rock, Folk, Jazz and American roots music, Mulebone breaks new ground with an original sound that is soulful, agile and adventurous.

THURSDAY: 18 KARAT, 7:00 – 9:00 PM

18 Karat is a traditional jazz trio consisting of Bernard Bonnie (bass guitar), Nick Lakatos (drums, Marimba/vibraphone), and Tim Schneider (electric guitar). They are from the Shenango Valley. This non-vocal group performs proven jazz standards. Source material pulls from such artists as Miles Davis, Johnny Mercer, Herbie Hancock, Sonny Rollins, Stanley Turrentine, and Toots Thieleman. A few “modern” tunes are also played as well that are easily recognizable. Duke Ellington was described as having an 18 karat heart.

Making their debut at the Club is Youngstown’s Whiskey Park! Beth Harkless, Michael Angelo, James Taylor, Jimmy Vass, and Mark Angelo deliver a smooth blend of rock and blues! Stop in and check them out!

The Rock Jazz Trio hails from the Slippery Rock/Grove City area. With Jane Gregg on violin, Tony Bellassai on upright bass, and Dennis Grosky on acoustic guitar and vocals, our music is “gypsy jazz,” an upbeat style of music made famous by Django Reinhardt in the 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s. We also play the music of Gershwin , Mancini, Jobim, and Sinatra, all in the gypsy jazz vein. Our music has a vintage feel to it that will keep you tapping your toes.

PM Mirror is the stage name for Mercer native Will Juergens. Will is an extremely talented young man who’s been living and writing music in the Pittsburgh area for a few years now. We’re honored to be a small part in what is sure to be a long career in music for him, and someday, you can literally say “I saw him there first!”. Will plays mostly all original music on both guitar and piano, and will be accompanied on a few songs by violinist Lena Horowitz. When we asked Will how he would describe his music he said “imagine if Frank Sinatra and Neil Young had a baby that was influenced by pop music…”. Having heard it, we can imagine it, and it’s good stuff. Come in and check him out from 7:00-9:00 pm!

West Virginia fiddler Ruby Hornsby will be opening the night from 8:00 – 9:00 pm with a set of original tunes, followed by what is now a rare appearance in Sharon by one of Youngstown’s hottest bands, The Vindys from 9:30 – 11:30 pm.This Youngstown 5-piece have established themselves as one of the up-and-coming bands in the region. Fronted by vocalist Jackie Popovec, they play a blend of pop, jazz and rock influenced by Amy Winehouse, Norah Jones, and the Alabama Shakes!

We’re postponing our normal pizza and Miller Lite Wednesday to celebrate our 5-year anniversary since the “new” Maennerchor reopened on July 11, 2013. It’s been 5 wonderful years …and what better way to celebrate than with Juvenile Characteristics. AClub favorite, this local band consists of Jason Hummell, Jason Sample, Kris Chapman, and Mitch Adelman. Their style is difficult to categorize, but it’s a mix of southern rock, bluegrass, and original tunes!

The Apollo Maennerchor and The Summit (91.3 FM Akron/90.7 FM Youngstown) are proud to present the first 330 in the 724 Original Music Showcase!

The Summit FM has been proudly promoting local musicians for years through their famous “330 Program” which highlights bands and musicians from all over the 330 area code, from Akron to Youngstown. Many of these fine musicians have played at the Apollo Maennerchor as well.

On Tuesday, July 24 (7/24), four marquee acts from the 330 will be brought to the 724 area code, as well as three solo acts representing Western PA to perform almost 5 continuous hours of fantastic original music.

Tickets are $10. All are general admission floor seating (no reservations), first come, first served. Only 200 tickets will be available, so pre-purchasing is recommended before they’re sold out. Tickets are available at the Apollo Maennerchor Club during normal business hours, Tuesday through Saturday after 5:00 pm until closing.
Tickets can also be purchased by credit card by telephone by calling (724) 308-6599. Again, during normal business hours, Tuesday through Saturday after 5:00 pm until closing.

Jim Scott makes his debut at the Club this Tuesday. A local talent, Jim plays a variety of acoustic covers and originals.

Local guitar/songwriting hero James Willaman performs solo, presenting a variety of original material and his interpretation of some classic covers!

FRIDAY: REUNION, 8:30 – 10:30 PM

This local 5-piece band includes Michelle Becker (vocals), Joe Benes (guitar), Luke Bundy (banjo and fiddle), Bill Dodd (dobro), Carl Sticklemeyer (guitar), and Tommy Valesky (bass). From bluegrass to R&B, Reunion puts its country stamp on a variety of music. Their sound starts with the vocal talents of Michelle Becker, and adds classic American roots instrumentation.

SATURDAY: GRANT STREET EXIT, 8:30 – 11:30 PM

Returning to the Club is Sharon’s original party band that has been a valley favorite for over 30 years.

Russ is a New Castle native and a regularly featured performer at the Club. He plays a wide variety of rock/pop hits, and often leads the crowd with his signature specialty…TV tunes!

FRIDAY: RANDY VELEZ, 8:30 – 10:30 PM

Randy has a large following in the valley of devoted fans! Randy is best known as a vocal impressionist who vocally covers modern pop and rock hits with a variety of props and costume changes for a very entertaining act. Come in and enjoy!

SATURDAY: SACKSVILLE RHYTHM & BLUES BAND, 8:30 – 11:30 PM

The legendary Sacksville Rhythm & Blues Band has been performing for over 3 decades, but this is their first appearance at the Club, and their first return to Sharon in a long while. Led by Sonny Boy Hopchick on guitar, the band also features Tony Armeni (trombone), Darryl Balestra (guitar), MIke Klanica (drums), John Plaskett (bass), and Joe Rangone (saxophone), this six-piece band plays blues, funk, rock, and originals!
